With so much information at one’s fingertips, it is very easy to keep up with celebrities. With the click of a button, one can be engrossed in their favorite actor/actress’ world by following them on their social media. However, some of our favorite stars as kids can slip through the cracks, whether it is because they stopped acting at a young age, or pursued other things. These are a few stars who were once beloved by millions, but are now almost forgotten.

Macaulay Culkin, known mostly for his lead roles in Richie Rich and the Home Alone movies, had his rise to fame during the 1990’s. While many know Culkin for his fun roles as a child star, his time in the spotlight ended when he was just 14, to pursue a normal life. Moviepilot.com says that at the age of 17 he dropped out of high school to marry Rachel Miller, his high school sweetheart, in 1998. However, this relationship only lasted for two years, and their divorce was made official in 2002. After this, Culkin entered an eight year relationship with the actress Mila Kunis, and reentered the acting world in the movie Party Monster. During his relationship with Kunis, Culkin was arrested for the possession of controlled substances like marijuana and xanax in 2004, says Movie Pilot. Many people believe that he entered into a drug addiction after photos of him in New York City in 2012 created a very negative buzz. While Culkin rarely did interviews at the time, he tiptoed around the drug rumors in an interview with The Guardian saying that, “No, I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever,” however he would not address his full problem. Now, it seems as though Culkin has reshaped his life, looking much healthier, and stepping back into the limelight with his own projects, like his 2015 Home Alone Sequel and his 2016 project, an adaptation of Aladdin, said Movie Pilot.

After starring on one of Disney’s most popular television series in the early 2000’s, Lizzie McGuire, Hilary Duff is often referred to as one of the few Disney stars who is still a “good role model” for kids, teens, and adults alike. After many appearances in movies, on television shows, and a pretty successful music career with the Disney Channel, the star split with her former bosses in 2004 and signed with Hollywood Records to release a self titled album, which debuted at number two on the Billboard top 200, says the Gazette Review. While Duff never had any major problems after her time on Disney, she was involved in a few controversial relationships. The Gazette Review stated that at the age of 16, she was involved in a relationship with Joel Madden, a singer of the band Good Charlotte, who was 25. Duff also had multiple incidents with stalkers over her time period dating Madden. In 2007, she would start dating NHL star Mike Comrie, marry in 2010, and have a son named Luca Cruz Comrie in 2012. However, their relationship would sadly come to an end in 2015. In the acting world, Duff would star in many movies, earning three nominations in a row for the Razzie award for worst actress. This did not stop the young actress, as she would have many successful television roles on Gossip Girl, Community, Two and a Half Men, Project Runway, and her own show, Younger. Duff’s website shows that she has dived back into the music world, as the Gazette Review stated her most recent album Breath in. Breath out. Landed at number five on the Billboard top 200 in 2015, and she is also focusing on raising her son Luca.

Dylan and Cole Sprouse became household names in 2005, after landing the roles as Zach and Cody on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody on the Disney Channel. The brothers had a long history of acting beforehand, and eventually would take a break after the conclusion of their show The Suite Life on Deck in 2011, to attend college, says the Gazette Review. The two received degrees from New York University in 2015, Dylan getting his in Video Game design, and Cole in archaeology. While they both said they would re-enter the acting world, neither has made any large appearances in any movies or television shows.

Moving from Disney to Nickelodeon, Miranda Cosgrove played the devious sister Megan on Drake and Josh and played the very studious Carly, on iCarly. Throughout her years on Nick, she guest starred in many television shows, and won multiple awards for her roles on both shows. Along with acting, Cosgrove entered the music world and released two albums, About You Now and Sparks Fly, and according to the Gazette Review, Sparks Fly peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200. After her time with Nick, Cosgrove lent her voice to the character Margo in Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 and spent time studying film at the University of Southern California. While things may be calm now for Miranda, her acting career is far from over, and she will be starring in The Last of Us, which will be released in 2018, and will continue to pursue her acting career.

While these may only be a few of the stars from one’s childhood that might have slipped your mind, these beloved actors and actresses and many more are continuing to do great things.
